Within one month the largest betting exchange in the world have inked two major sponsorship deals with the giants of European football – Manchester United and FC Barcelona resepctively.

The sponsorship deals are part of Betfair's marketing push on football, following horse racing and cricket campaigns (e.g. partnership with the England & Wales Cricket Board). Previously, Betfair sponsored Fulham FC, but the deal was for 2003/2004 season only.

As far as the deal with L'equip blaugrana is concerned (September 2009), Betfair's sports betting content will be available through fcbarcelona.com, there will be Betfair's branding accross different locations at Camp Nou Stadium, Barca's supporters will enjoy Betfair's exclusive promotions, whereas the company will have an access to the Catalan's club training grounds plus other forms of hospitality as well.

As far as the deal with the Red Devils is concerned (August 2009), the British bookmaker will take the place of Betfred as ManU's official betting partner, and as part of the deal, Betfair branding will appear accross different locations at Old Trafford. Moreover, Betfairfootball.com will feature lots of exclusive interviews with ManU players, as well as competition with unique prizes, e.g. a chance to play on the Old Trafford pitch.
