According to the data released by internet intelligence service Hitwise, the number one betting exchange in the world is the unquestionable top dog when it comes to sports betting visitors. Betfair was ranked first for as long as one-and-a-half year: January-June 2009, July-December 2009 and the six-month period to August 2010.

For each half-year period, Betfair online bookmaker was awarded Hitwise Number 1 Award.
As far as the recent 2010 stats are concerned, Betfair bookmaker leads with a 13.78 percent market share of total visits to UK-facing sports betting websites, ahead of Ladbrokes, with 9.9%, with Bet365 and William Hill bookmakers tied on 9.3 percent.
