The British bookmaker company William Hill has signed a partnership agreement with World Snooker Association. According to the agreement the well-known bookmaker will sponsor the second biggest tournament in the world of snooker - UK Championship. This tournament has been held annually since 1977, when the first tournament took place in Blackpool. According to the representatives of the World Snooker Association, this year's British Championship will be broadcasted on BBC. 32 best players of the world will take part in the competition which will be held in York, among them we can single out the current champion John Higgins, as well as other leaders: Mark Selby, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Steve Davis, Mark Williams, Stephen Hendry and Shaun Murphy.

This tournament was also sponsored by such well-known companies as: Coral, Tennents, Royal Liver Assurance, Liverpool Victoria, Travis Perkins, Maplin Electronics, Pukka-Pies, 12bet.com, but this year William Hill will replace them. The owners of the bookmaker company stressed that thanks to a partnership agreement with UK Championship they can advertise their new online and mobile products.
